THANK YOU!!!!!!! Search Engines!!!!!!!!!!

Web users should be extremely grateful to search engines. Regardless of the fall backs that most servers or search engines may lack they more than make up for it.
Search engines are able to provide catalogues of information, related material or the exact piece that a user maybe searching for. The fall back is the frequency of uploaded information, which makes it harder for searchers to validate what they see/read, because it is either historic or not factual material.
Search engines’ very use to the public is for its general searches, but as far as scholarly and theoretical findings, it seems to be a hinder on not so much the correct information, but rather relevant present information. Thus, search engines are an application that must be updated everyday. When dealing with the web, everything is instantaneously happening not periodically; it is all about the time frame.
My favorite article was “Googlmania,” but there was a section called “Reports: Demographics” in particular that caught my eye by Deborah Fallows. She notes that American women use the net for catching up and framing their overall experience with a greater emphasis on deepening connections with people, while men use the net for more activities.” Lastly I would like to include, “Men are more avid consumers than women of online information”
With that being said, users might be aware of that privacy has become a big concern, especially to from companies like GOOGLE, who offer a series of applications for our specified needs, sometimes before we even know our own needs. It is not Google that we need to be concerned about but ourselves and what information we give them and other companies. Google knows its users because users give information every time we surf. We search for certain items and therefore Google records our searches in its web history. The user gives information on what he/she likes and Google simply remembers and uses that to help accommodate us. The problem is, is that maybe it is about time we draw a line.
Participation + social networking = Interactivity. Web sites like facebook and myspace give an opportunity for companies like Google to further understand us. I am not sure if this is correct but I would assume that the many applications that facebook has is an example of “OpenSocial.” This tool allows developers to access three specific pools of data: users’ profile information, friends info (social graph), and activities. I feel that Google is just doing its part to satisfy the customer and that is why we make them #1 and why we are concerned about them as far as what they know about us.
Partnerships like Yahoo and Microsoft are just attempts to either stay in the race or take the lead. Personally, I believe that is a bad idea because it is two different ideologies, kind of like a father and his son. “It’s a classic battle between youth and experience or, as Google likes to believe, Good and evil.”
I would have thought that a partnership with Google could benefit both companies but I am not sure. Regardless of the partnership, I believe Microsoft will outlast all the other companies, Yahoo, Netscape, Amazon, etc, but eventually all companies will be acquired by Google or go bankrupt because even though they set out to get better, so does Google.
