Hello All,

Apparently you cannot copy and paste spell checked items on the blog as simply as I imagined... Sooo here is what I said earlier that did not appear with me and my lovely wife.
Hello All,

I love the internet as a mass communications tool, but this intimate of an atmosphere is a little more tenuous for me. I enjoy mass communicating, but believe it or not I'm a little shy on a personal level. I am more excited about this class than any class I have taken so far at Texas State.  I am so intrigued by the convergence of all of the other media tools on this medium. It almost seems that I have been unwittingly preparing for this for the past 30 years of my life. OK all of you under 30 quit laughing already. I look forward to getting to know you all better as we work together and learn from each other. I'm very grateful to Cindy for stretching me already by having me post. My companies have had web presence since the mid 1990s and my employees have constructed many websites for my clients, but I have only look at the esthetic values of each of those sites and know just enough DreamWeaver, Flash and html to crash a computer. I really want to learn more about the programming part of web design. I created a profile for those that are interested in who I am, so I won't bore you now with those details. I will however post a picture of me and my beautiful wife just to see how that function works.
See you all in class on Wednesday. Lewis  Oh, figured out the cutting and pasting thing for this blog.

On Board - Second Blog Post Ever

A little bit about me...

Greetings everyone! My name is Chondra and I am currently in my last semester as a graduate student. I began my college career intending to go to PT school and eventually discovered that I didn’t want to spend my days in a clinic. I think that it is important to find out what it is you really want out of life and do it, even if it means starting over or working harder. I recently received a job working for the office of public affairs for the United States Army and that part of my journey begins after graduation.

I am excited about learning web design and I hope that I can get all of my links to work (the Geek Squad would never hire me). I won’t be found on any social networking sites (sorry Jac) and I mainly use the Internet for checking my email. I understand the importance of the Internet; I just haven’t managed to fall crazy in love yet.

I would like to leave you all with the recipe for success according to Emerson, “ To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived”.

Introduction

Hi all. A bit about me... I'm a first year grad student and I also work part time as a supervisor at a market research firm. In my spare time I enjoy writing, reading, drawing, spending time with my husband and my three dogs, going to movies, and of course spending time on the internet. Some of my favorite sites to visit are as follows: You Tube, My Space, eBay, Dogster (yes, my dogs each have their own page), and Yahoo (primarily used for e-mail).

I look forward to learning how to design websites this semester. I spend a lot of time on the internet, but I wouldn't consider myself necessarily 'tech savvy.' Sure, the basic things I understand, but I don't know how to design a website from scratch and I'm not familiar with the various web-designing programs that exist. I think the skills I'll gain from this course will be extremely valuable to me both on a personal as well as professional level.

Say Hello....old April Wine song

It's Saturday night and I'm posting to a blog site. What is wrong with me? It's not as lame as you may think. I'm in the studio at work and figured I would get re-aquainted with the blog site. So, having said that, stop picturing me in my underwear in my mother's basement with nothing better to do than blog.

This marks my last semester at Texas State for the Mass Comm graduate program. The good news is I have also just applied for a Media Specialist job for Student Publications at Texas State.

Please, please for the love of god please join me on Facebook, I only need four more to reach 100. And if you really get bored you can go to YouTube and watch my videos. I'm especially happy with "Chicken Goes Boom Boom" and my cat has several videos posted there too. My channel is jacmalloy.

Before I get outta here tonight maybe I'll set up my linkedin page.

Introducing....Me

Hi everyone,
It's your instructor here. I know most of you, and heaven knows, there's lots about me online. I'm friends with many of you on a variety of social networks. Feel free to friend me on Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, follow me on Twitter. And, if you didn't join WebPubNET last semester, you will have a chance to do that again this time. It's been very helpful in getting people connected when it comes to job hunting. And, it's just a good way to stay in touch.

I also have a delicious page, where I bookmark articles that I find to discuss in class. And, I started a tech blog at cindytech.wordpress.com . I also do a music blog at onthatnote.com and I started doing a newsletter for TX Music Magazine. No wonder I'm always on the computer.

I am the proud owner of a 3G iPhone, making me very obnoxious at parties and social events ("let me look that up"). In my spare time, I do research on social networking, so I can one day receive tenure and the resulting job security. I'm happy to have the opportunity to work at TX State teaching online skills and concepts. It is an exciting time to be in media. Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you about what's been going on and what you hope to learn this semester.

Please add links and images to your posts! The photo with this post was taken at SXSW this year, before the Web Awards. The grad student group blogged the event at sxtsu.blogspot.com . Pictured are Sunday Udoetok, Theresa Fore (neither of which are still in the program) and Jon Zmikly.
